The original workshop, from numbers 21 and 23 of La Grande Rue are some of the oldest buildings within the town walls.

The exterior frontage with the corbel timber sections, the tiled roof incorporating the large dormer windows all go to show the traditional appearance has been kept. Built in 1537 the year that the Imperials sacked the town and originally designed as two dwellings. No 21 being “l'âne rayé » occupied by a coachbuilder and No 23 “le petit écu” owned by a grocer. At the end of the First World War Mr Abel Lepage restored both the exterior and interior with particular attention being spent upon the chimney where the symbol of Louis XIV was sculpted.
